On 9th October 2009 there were held traditional Initiation Rites of 1st Grade students. Young people were accepted in a jocular way into the circle of students of National Education Commission Vocational Schools Complex. During the rites, which took place in Dalków on the grounds of Dendrofarm, students from 1a, 1c, 1i, 1m, 1w, 1o with their head teachers Ms M. Bartak, Mrs E. Maksymów – Michałowska, L. Musiał, A. Matusiak, M. Struzik had a great time. There were also schools headmasters: Mr Cz. W. Czupryniak and Mr P. Korzeń. The event was hosted by a group of students from 2w and 2i under the supervision of Ms M. Tojza. Our 1st grade students presented themselves in amusing shows dressed in funny costumes and participating in many exhausting games. The winner of the whole contest was grade 1c who will be the host of the next year’s Initiation Rites. Congratulations!
European Day of Languages On 25th September for the second time teachers of English, German and Russian organized European Day of Languages in our school. Students from different years performed in sketches, sang songs and danced to show the culture and languages of European countries. There was a glance at Bavarian Oktoberfest, sports report from Kubica’s pit stop, Michael Jackson’s clip, a fragment of “Romeo and Juliet” and unforgettable “The Swan Lake” performed by our male students from year 3c. Apart from performances, students and teachers could learn about the culture of England, Germany and Russia by exploring realia on the stalls in front of the assembly hall. In addition, during the long break, our staff was treated with “European Breakfast” finished with a cake in the shape and colour of the European Flag. Our school is equipped in modern didactic and simulation means such as IT (including Macintosh), mechatronic, electric al and mechanical laboratories. There is a high-tech multimedia centre as well. Our highly qualified staff maintains a high level of education (27 certified teachers and 3 teachers doing their PhD). Professional approach to students results in students’ excellent achievements in various Olympiads and tournaments – in 2008 our students were first in general sports qualification of high schools in Głogów District, they were also first in defence tournament for high school students of Głogów District and in shooting competition organized by the Polish Army, they were runner-ups in Cross-regional Relay Race for high schools and in interscholar competition “Master of German”. Our students were third in interscholar competition “Maths is fun” and they were second in a Contest of Self-government Knowledge organized by Głogów District. Additionally, many other local events are initiated and coorganized by our school. In 2008 we participated in organization of Herbert Days in Głogów and took part in setting up Interscholar European Club in Głogów. The school is involved in many international projects (Socrates, Comenius, Robotikon – cooperation with German and Slovakian schools). In 2008 a group of students from our school carried out a project entitled “Memory Incomplete” devoted to the memory of Jews that used to live in Głogów . Within the project, the school has been taking care of the Jewish Cemetery in Szlichtyngowa since 2008. As for vocational education fulfilled by our school, we actively collaborate with the Politechnic of Wrocław, the State Vocational College in Głogów and The Lower Silesian College of Entrepreneurship and Technology in Polkowice. |
